French language programmes (A1 – C2)

Structured curriculum aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Every level runs as one 50-day cycle.

Discovery & Foundations (Découverte)

60 – 80 hours · 50-day cycle

Who it is for: Absolute beginners with no prior knowledge of French.
Objective: Understand and use familiar everyday expressions and basic phrases aimed at satisfying concrete needs.
Grammar & structure: Present tense of regular verbs (-er, -ir, -re), essential irregular verbs (être, avoir, aller, faire), possessive adjectives, basic negation (ne… pas), definite and indefinite articles.
Vocabulary & themes: Greetings, introducing oneself and others, family, daily routines, numbers, telling time, ordering in a café or restaurant.
Practical skills: Write short postcards, fill out basic forms, ask for directions, introduce friends and family.
Evaluation: End-of-level A1 quiz plus a basic oral interaction assessment.

80 – 100 hours · 50-day cycle

Who it is for: Learners who can already interact in simple, routine tasks.
Objective: Communicate in simple and routine tasks requiring a direct exchange of information on familiar topics.
Grammar & structure: Past tenses (passé composé with avoir and être, introduction to imparfait), reflexive verbs, direct and indirect object pronouns (le, la, les, lui, leur), future tenses (futur proche, futur simple).
Vocabulary & themes: Shopping, travel and transportation, weather, clothing, housing, describing past experiences and childhood memories.
Practical skills: Understand simple song lyrics and audio, write short emails or letters of invitation, make reservations, describe a past trip.
Evaluation: A2 practice exam — listening comprehension, reading, short composition and oral exam.

100 – 120 hours · 50-day cycle

Who it is for: Learners who want to express opinions, discuss plans and navigate independent life in a French-speaking environment.
Objective: Understand the main points of clear standard input on familiar matters and handle most situations while travelling.
Grammar & structure: Contrast between passé composé and imparfait, subjonctif présent (necessity and emotion), relative pronouns (qui, que, où, dont), conditionnel for polite requests and advice.
Vocabulary & themes: Work and career, environment and ecology, media and news, personal ambitions, cultural events.
Practical skills: Express agreement and disagreement, defend a personal viewpoint, summarise short texts or news clips, write formal letters such as complaints and job applications.
Evaluation: Full B1 practice evaluation in TEF/TCF-style format.

120 – 150 hours · 50-day cycle

Who it is for: Students preparing for university admission, professional work in French, or official immigration exams (TEF / TCF).
Objective: Understand complex texts on concrete and abstract topics and interact with native speakers with a high degree of fluency.
Grammar & structure: Complex logical connectors (bien que, afin que, pourtant), passive voice, conditionnel passé for regrets, double pronouns, complex subjunctive usage.
Vocabulary & themes: Social debates, technology, arts and literature, politics, economic issues, formal and informal registers.
Practical skills: Construct structured arguments, participate in debates, write persuasive essays, analyse complex audio reports and news broadcasts.
Evaluation: B2 mock exam with detailed score breakdown and teacher feedback.

150+ hours · 50-day cycle

Who it is for: Advanced speakers seeking academic mastery, professional translation and localisation skills, or native-level fluency.
Objective: Express ideas fluently and spontaneously without searching for expressions, using language flexibly for social, academic and professional purposes.
Grammar & structure: Nuances of style, implicit meaning, advanced syntax, stylistic registers, rhetoric, idiomatic mastery.
Vocabulary & themes: Philosophy, abstract concepts, geopolitics, specialised professional jargon, literary analysis.
Practical skills: Synthesise multiple complex documents, deliver public presentations, negotiate complex business terms, write academic essays.
Evaluation: Comprehensive C-level mastery assessment and diploma preparation.

150+ hours · 50-day cycle · structure recommended, not yet ratified

Who it is for: Near-native speakers pursuing full stylistic command for academic, literary or senior professional work.
Objective: Understand virtually everything heard or read, and express ideas with precision, nuance and stylistic flexibility in any register.
Grammar & structure: Stylistic flexibility, implicit meaning, rhetorical structure, register shifting, full idiomatic command.
Vocabulary & themes: Literary and philosophical registers, specialised professional domains, geopolitics, cultural criticism.
Practical skills: Synthesise and critique complex sources, argue spontaneously at length, write to publication standard.
Evaluation: C2 mastery assessment and diploma preparation.
